Description

Electric demolition hammers are sometimes confused with rotary drills or hammer drills. The difference between these types of machine are the motion of the tool, and the job the tool is used for. Rotary and hammer drills use a rotary motion in order to drill into various materials. Electric demolition hammers on the other hand, use a forward and backward hammering motion to break through stone, concrete, or brick.

Safety and use of the electric demolition hammers:

  • Avoid using these machines where there are untrained personnel.
  • Always wear personal protection when operating heavy machinery, including a hard hat, protective glasses, safety gloves, safety boots, and a dust mask.
  • Always keep a firm grip on the machine at all times, whilst applying pressure to the work surface.
  • Never use a demolition hammer if the tip of the machine is pointed towards yourself.
  • Also never point the tip of the machine strait down into the surface you are demolishing.
  • The ideal position is to have the hammer pointing down at an angle. This enables the machine to chip into, and not through the material.
